Course Modules

Day 1: Introduction: Guideline, Code of Practice, Duties and responsibilities and Introduction Cable and Pipe Locator.
a) Introduction, introduction of utilities industry, type of utility, different type of size, different type materials, methods of installation and construction, different in designed and construction which affect locating works.
b) Introduction of utility detection industry standard.
c) Fundamental principal of electromagnetic locator / cable and pipe locator, how locator works, electromagnetic and current theory,

Day 2: Introduction of Non-metallic Duct Detection and Other Accessories
a) Passive locating mode, site demo and practical.
b) Active locating mode, how to apply transmitter signal, site demo and practical.
c) Use of other accessories to enhance locating ability (non-metallic pipe/ duct) demo and site practical.
d) Assessment Exam:
i) Paper Test
ii) Practical Test
e) to prepare a usable record/ drawing of detected underground utilities information!

Post test:
*Minimum passing requirement both 50% Paper Test and 50% Practical Test. Failing any part consider failed!
